STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) are diseases that are transmitted through sexual intercourse with another domestic partner. Usually STD?s are transmitted through oral, anal, vaginal, or other sexually active bodily contact. Sexually Transmitted Diseases are 100% avoidable. There are many techniques, but the most effective way is to have sexual intercourse with only one partner in your whole life, making sure that your partner didn?t have sexual involvements with anyone else. Another method is a condom. A condom fits over the male erect penis, to protect both partners of any diseases that may possibly exist. It is also vital to buy the right kind of condom. Some condoms are porous, which means bacteria can travel through the holes as well as sperm. A good condom would be one with a small latex tip to avoid breaking of the condom. Overall, latex condoms are good ways to prevent STD?s and pregnancy, but they do break, so its not 100% guaranteed to prevent pregnancy or disease. There are many methods out there, but the most effective method is to have sexual intercourse with one partner.
Who thought that sex would be easy? It?s not. Nowadays we have tons of diseases, which are fatal. Only some of them are curable, and some can be slowed down. But all of them can be prevented. The most common sexually transmitted diseases are: Chlamidia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Herpes(Simplex II), NGU(Nongonicoccal Urethritis), Vaginitis, Genital Warts, Pubic Lice/Scabies, AIDS, and Hepatitis.
Chlamidia is a disease, which is transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse. If you had this disease, you would experience bleeding between menstrual periods, abdominal pain, and painful urination. There is another term for painful urination. It is called ?urinary tract infection?. This group includes Cystititis or Urethritis caused by Gonorrhea or Chlamidia. Fortunately, this disease can be treated unlike many STDs. Actually treatment of Chlamidia is quite simple. Some antibiotics, doxycycline, tetracycline, or zithromax will cure the problem within a week ? a month. If this disease is not handled, urination will be more complicated due to the enlargement of the prostate gland in a male, your reproductive organs will malfunction and get damaged, and this disease can be transmitted to the fetus when a woman is pregnant.
Gonorrhea is usually the cause of heart trouble and abdominal problems. It is a treatable disease, which takes some time. Usually daily doses of antibiotics will cure this problem. This disease is spread through unprotected anal, oral, or vaginal sex. If the antibiotics are not used properly; or as intended by your doctor, you will have organic infections, heart failures, skin problems, and eye damage. When treated, this disease will weaken. It takes time, and when that time passes, you will not have any more symptoms, and the disease will be obsolete.
Syphilis is a strange disease. In fact, symptoms occur 3-12 weeks after sexual intercourse. Body pains will occur, especially near the genital area. Various antibiotics, and hospitalization can help relive the pain as well as cure the disease. You will know that you have Syphilis when there is a sudden loss of hair, rashes. And body aches. There are 3 stages of Syphilis. Stage 1: body aches. Stage 2: hair loss, and rashes. Stage 3: damage to head or brain. This can also be passed on to a fetus when the mother is pregnant.
Herpes (Simplex II) is an unnoticeable disease for most people, but when it is apparent, you will have swollen glands, and itching or pain in the groin area. The symptoms can be treated with a cream called Aciclovir. Lack of use of Aciclovir or other creams will result to sores, and rashes will reappear in times of stress.
NGU (Nongonicoccal Urethritis) will result to abdominal pain, and complication during urination. Sometimes it can lead to permanent damage of organs, and pregnancy complications. Antibiotics will help fight this disease, and eventually will cure it.
Vaginitis is a nasty disease to the female?s vaginal area. Some females have no symptoms at all; it will become quite apparent when there is pain during urination. Vaginal creams, antibiotics, and suppositories applied to the infected area will treat the disease. Sometimes this disease can lead to extreme discomfort during sleep, and can occur in men causing penis infections.
Genital Warts is a form of herpes, which is received by direct contact and sexual intercourse. Genital Warts practically speak for themselves. They are a series of warts on the genital, and pubic area. The warts can be removed using laser therapy, various medicines, or a genital cream, which penetrates the warts. Over time, the warts can grow twice their size if they are not treated at sight. Genital Warts also make up 70 types of viruses.
Pubic Lice and Scabies are tiny creatures settling in your pubic hairs. They are generally lice. This can be transmitted sexually, or hygiene problems. Small warts will start to develop near the pubic area, and there will be a lot of itchiness as well as burning around the sex organs. The procedure to get rid of this problem is simple. Take a thorough shower! There are also different creams and shampoos, which can prevent and kill this disease.
Now we have a major STD, which has caused many deaths, and has taken many lives. AIDS. AIDS is short for acquired immune deficiency syndrome. It is a disease that damages the body’s immune system (the system that helps fight off illnesses). When a person’s immune system is damaged, he/she may be more likely to become sick from illnesses that might not hurt a person who has a healthy immune system. The person’s body with AIDS cannot defend itself, and it isn’t able to fight off infections and some kinds of tumors. This disease is transmitted through blood-to-blood contact, sexual intercourse, and drugs. Nowadays all blood is checked before blood transfusions take place. Sexual intercourse can spread AIDS, and it can be passed on to a baby through the placenta. Some drug addicts share needles, which can carry various diseases. There is currently no treatment at this time, but it can be slowed down, or weakened. Scientists all over the world are trying to develop immunity to this terrible disease. Millions of people die each year because of this disease. We need to find a treatment fast! Think about it. If it?s so hard to be immune to the common cold, how do you expect to fight off AIDS?
Last but not least, we have Hepatitis. This disease can be spread through unprotected sexual intercourse. There are usually none or very little symptoms; tiredness and enlarged liver. There is currently no cure for Hepatitis, but the symptoms can be treated. Over time, if the symptoms are not treated, you will develop server illness, liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. This disease can be passed on to fetus if unnoticed.
In conclusion, Sexually Transmitted Diseases are very unpleasant, but they can always be prevented. It?s all up to you. It?s your choice.
