Цель урока: развитие языковой компетенции учащихся по теме: “Natural disasters ”.


активизировать новую лексику в речи учащихся; формировать системное представление учащихся о стихийных бедствиях развивать аудитивные навыки; развивать навыки монологической речи; развивать языковую догадку, а так же память, внимание, смекалку; повышать интерес к изучению иностранного языка.

Презентация по теме «Natural Disasters».

Проектор, компьютер, доска. карточки.

Ход урока.

1. Greeting.

Good morning, dear guests. Good morning, students. Nice to see you again. I think that you are fine and ready for a successful work at the lesson. Today we are having an unusual lesson. Be attentive please. To start with let’s watch a short video. / Видеофрагмент/ .

2. The aim of the lesson. Постановка цели урока.

T. Guess the theme of our lesson. What are we going to talk about?

S. We are going to talk about Natural Disasters.

T. Yes, you are right. We are reading and speaking about Natutal Disasters at the lesson. So, we live in the world which is full of danger. Every day we hear about disasters that happen on our planet. They damage houses, destroy fields, kill animals and people. The International Committee GEOCHANGE is going to hold the conference on the problems connected with natural disasters. A representative of the organization Ilya Pozdnyakov came to invite. / Слайд 1/.

S. “Dear friends. The International Committee GEOCHANGE is going to hold its conference. They invite the experts on natural disasters from many countries. They sent an invitation to your lyceum. But before going there you have to cope with the tasks the International Committee prepared for you. I hope that all of you can cope with these tasks. Here you are. / Передаёт учителю/.

3. Phonetic drill1. Фонетическая зарядка. / Слайд 3/.

T. Your task is to have a good pronunciation of the words related to the topic.

Name the sound. Listen to me and repeat after me:

4. Brain storming. Мозговой штурм. / Слайд 3/.

Your task is to complete the spider gram. Think of as many words as possible related to the theme Natural Disasters.

5. Working with the new words. Лексическая зарядка.

Now look at the screen. Your task is to guess the missing word and fill in the gap. Let’s work in chain. Fill in the gap and read the whole sentence.

6. Reading for specific information. Поисковое чтение.

T. Scan the text. Find in the text and answer my questions:

T. Who are emergency workers? Name the professions involved in rescue work.

7. Listening. Активизация навыков аудирования.

Do you know the places where the natural disasters happen most of all? Now you are going to listen to the recording and fill in the gaps. Be attentive. We are listening to the recording two times.







Let’s check the results. Change the cards between the groups, check the results and correct mistakes. Put the cards on the map according to the table.

6. Speaking . Активизация навыков диалогической и монологической речи.

a) Please answer my questions:

What natural disasters do you know?

What is a hurricane?

What is an earthquake?

What is a drought?

What is a volcano?

Are natural disasters dangerous for people life?

Why do you think that natural disasters are dangerous for people life?

Is the Earth a dangerous place?

b) Your task is to make a poster describing natural disaster and warning people. 7 sentences about the disaster which is mentioned in your card. Use key words and phrases given on the screen. In 10 min/you will present to us.

8. Summing up. Подведение итогов. Выставление оценок.

T. Where do Natural Disasters happen most of all. You have coped with all the tasks. And I think that such experienced specialists can go to the conference.
